Construction Information

Current construction information is provided below. Please remember that construction schedules can be impacted by many variables, such as weather, availability of materials, and resource scheduling.

CURRENT CONSTRUCTION INFO

The City of Peoria has contracted with Haydon Building to construct improvements for Lake Pleasant Parkway, with the following planned activities:

  • Lake Pleasant Parkway traffic is currently shifted to the east side of the road north of the Loop 303, one lane in each direction, onto temporary asphalt pavement, for work to take place on the west side of the road for grading activities and road construction.

  • Scheduled to take place during night hours (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.), Wednesday and Thursday nights (August 12-13), and possibly Friday night (August 14) if weather or resources require the additional night, paving crews will pave the west side (southbound lanes) of Lake Pleasant Parkway.  A flagger activity may be in place to assist traffic and the paving activity, as needed. As part of this effort, striping crews will place temporary striping along the roadway to facilitate the next major traffic shift.

  • Scheduled to take place Tuesday through Friday, August 18-21, during day and night hours, Lake Pleasant Parkway traffic will be shifted away from the middle of the road, with southbound traffic shifted onto the new asphalt pavement on the west side of the road and northbound traffic remaining where it is on the east side of the road. This shift of traffic is necessary for crews to install reclaimed waterline across the median island.

  • Scheduled to begin Monday, August 24, north and southbound Lake Pleasant Parkway traffic will be shifted to the west side of the road, onto the new asphalt pavement, still one lane in each direction, for work to take place on the east side of the road for grading activities, drainage improvements, and road construction.

  • Mass grading is completed and crews have begun work on the roundabout at Amkor Way. Crews also continue work to install utility conduit and drainage improvements in this area.

  • Crews continue work to construct the bridge across the CAP Canal and the transition to Lake Pleasant Parkway on either side of the bridge.

  • As the shoulder of the roadway on either side of Lake Pleasant Parkway, north of the Loop 303, is currently closed, this area is not safely accessible for cyclists so please travel an alternate route during this time. Bike lanes remain accessible south of the Loop 303.

Roads remain open for travel during this work with traffic restrictions in place, as needed, to accommodate the work effort. Work is primarily taking place during daytime hours, with some exceptions, during weekdays, excluding major holidays.

Thank you for your patience during this work.
